Going Green for a FFF Challenge

Going Green

The challenge this week at the Splendid Stamping blog was a great excuse to get my behind into gear to make a card for my young nephew.

The challenge; 'Going Green', and I had just the stamp, Chibi Punk has been in my collection for a while but apart from actually printing him out all he had done is sit in my to-do pile!

So finally I coloured my little punk with my copics and gave him some wild green hair, which really suits his wild style, he is mounted on some papers from 'lily of the valley' and finished the card with the sentiment and some star brads out of my stash.

He is looking very cool in green and I think he will make my nephew smile!

Meljens Designs Challenge

Challenge #4: For The Little Ones

This is the first design challenge that I have entered at Meljen's Design DT blog, but I don't think it will be the last as I have totally fallen in love with her images.

This challenge was too make a card for someone little, I used 'Cuddle Dragon' not just because it is well suited for a little ones birthday card, but he is just sooo darn cute!

I coloured the image with my copics and mounted him on some matching designer papers from 'Lili of the Valley' and Kaiser Craft La-Di-Da ranges and the card stock is SU Almost Amethyst and Rich Razzleberry.

I have finished the card with an SU sentiment from the 'Best Yet' set, some Grosgrain ribbon, a little bling and a craft number one rubbed with silver.

A cute little card for a child's first birthday!

Lifes Sweeter......

lifes SWEETER when shared with friends...

Today I finally got around to mounting some of Meljen's designs that I had coloured over a week ago, I know, I know, very slow, but I just love colouring her gorgeous images so I printed out a few last week and just spent time alone with the digi's and my copics, colouring in my craft room!

This one is my favorite out of the four cards I finished today, 'Turtle and Friend', this little guy is just tooooo cute, and very fun to colour, I have mounted him using some designer paper from Kaiser Crafts La-Di-Da collection on some SU Orchid Opulence which matches perfectly. I have then finished with the sentiment on some Kaiser Craft ribbon Grosgrain ribbon.

I think this card is very simple yet very SWEET!

Time for some GIRL power!

Girl Power!

I love to watch my nine year old, Nicholas train at the Dojo, I take him three times a week, twice for his Zen Do Kai and once for Muay Thai, but it's a very masculine place to be most of the time, lots of sweat and testosterone as the kids go through their karta's and kick routines it's great to watch but sometimes I really feel the need for some girl time!

Time to hit the craft room and print out my Karate Anya and Ian digi stamps from The Greeting Farm, this time Anya is the star, I just borrowed Ian's body for some modifications...lol!

I made two cards using these images, the one in the background is the more serious of the two, I have left her belt white so it can be personalized when ever I need the card for a special birthday occasion.

The one in the foreground is a more fun card, it is not so formal! They have both been coloured with my copics and I have used a mix of papers from my off-cuts for these cards. All of the sentiments have been made on my computer using publisher (once I am happy with the design I save them as a png file so they are ready for next time).

Well that's all I have for now, time to go back and help build some Star Wars Lego with the boys, I think they have let me have all the girl time I am going to get for today!

Two Rock Stars and a Little Birdie!

A day at home!

Today was a stay at home day for my family and I, a day spent finishing the washing, and spending some quiet-time with my son's while my husband slept after his night shift.

In between I was left with plenty of time to finish some cards, which was good, because after hopping through some blogs my creative urge was starting to boil over!

Two Rock Stars!

After visiting one of my favorite blogs by Wicked Pixie, I was super inspired by her CA&F Rock Star card, especially with her alteration using Ebony and Rockstar Anya. I had not used my Rocktstar Anya for ages and she was gathering some dust, so I looked through all of my digis for the perfect images to alter for myself. I decided on using Audrey and Joseph for something a little different.

They were both fun too make and turned out better than I thought, I can see alot more alterations happening in the near future.......

and a little birdie....

Today was also the day to finish a card from my children to their Nana, who's birthday is this week, something bright and cheerful for the occasion was in order so I used my 'Happy Birdie' digi stamp from Cuddly Buddly Crafts, I just used the pic without the border and layered it on some nestabilities, the designer paper is from my SU stash as is the ribbon.

That's all I have for today, I need to go and help my nine year old son Nicholas edit his work, he has started on his first novel (his words), it's coming along quite nicely considering he only decided to start on the project last night, at least it will give him something to do during the school holidays...

Punk It Up!!

Let's PUNK it UP!!

Another great challenge from the Club Anya blog this week see's us all PUNKING it up!

I got very excited about this one and jumped into my craft room straight after reading the post and this is what I walked out with. I used Ebony, a digi from TGF, as she is such a sweet little punk, and fun to colour. I have used my copics to colour the image and gave her some wild green and purple locks with some black streaks, I have given her matching eyeshadow. I have used some Sakura black glaze on her headband and on the skulls eyes.

The designer paper for the background is from a Kaiser Kraft digi set, and I crumpled it to give it a rougher texture.

Now for the fun part, I have a huge stash of stuff around the house to raid, so I was very excited as I dug through the boxes and found what I needed, silver chain, various beads to hang from it and even a rubber ducky paperclip. I stapled the sentiment together, and attached the chain with its adornments with some brads!!

I was super-excited once this card was finished, now all I need is for the Galleria to be back up and running so I can post it for this weeks WCW challenge!

Day Dreaming of another Sketch Challenge

Day Dreaming

My ideas for this card design evolved along the way during it's creation. I started out wanting to make a Mothers' Day Card to enter in the latest Saturday Sketch Challenge over at Club Anya, and although it still is a card for Mum, it has turned out better than I originally thought!

I used HG Laundry as my stamped image and coloured her with my copics, I coloured the nestability she is seated on with my SU Stampin Pastels to represent her sitting on grass with the blue sky in the background.

The designer paper is from the Dear Lizzy range and is picture perfect for this image, I added some Kaiser Kraft flowers with some brads from my stash to match.

While I was digging around in my box of embellies for the matching brads I came upon a tiny glass slipper, and this was the exact point where my thoughts evolved!

So with Cinderella Slipper in hand I finished the card with some gold twine and hung the tiny shoe upon the washing line with a small bow, I then added the sentiment and finished with some crystal diamontes.

When I look at this card now, I imagine myself outside hanging out the families washing (which is a twice weekly chore), day dreaming about becoming a Princess and not having to worry about finishing my daily chores ever again!

A girl can DREAM can't she??
