Jazz Time

Jazz Time

This is my entry for this weeks FFF Challenge at Splendid Stamping along with a very quick post. I was up until midnight with my son last night at the Emergency Department, he has a perforated eardrum which may be related to when he knocked himself out last week so I am sitting here waiting for a call to take him for a CT Scan to see if he fractured any bones to cause the problem, wondering why they didn't do the scan last week.

Materials Used: Chibi Trumpet digi stamp from TGF, Copic Ciao markers, SU Riding Hood Red and Blue Bayou card stock, DP from Sassafras's Nerdy Bird Bundle, foil embellishments from Porta Craft, rhinestones from Kaiser Craft and ribbon from the stash pile.

au revoir

Spaghetti and Meatballs all covered in Cheese!!

This card was made for a special friend and it is also entered in the latest challenge at the I Love Digi Challenge Blog; Emboss It!

Materials Used: Digi's from Meljen's Designs, Copic Ciao markers, Sakura embossing pens, SU card stock and DP, Cuttlebug Script embossing folder, Spiral folder punch and buttons from my stash pile.

The free digi's I found on Meljens designs blog for this card are just adorable and perfect for making this thank you card for our au pair Aude, who left us to day to finish her travels around Australia.

Aude has been living with our family since the beginning of February and after five months it was sadly time for her to leave today to finish her journey before flying back home to France in October. At this very moment she is driving her way up the north coast of Western Australia through Geraldton, Monkey Mia, Exmouth and Broome (to name just a few) then she will visit Darwin and Alice Springs before heading back down the East Coast through Queensland, Sydney and finally finishing in Melbourne.

Aude has been a wonderful addition to our family and our two sons have adored having her around, growing up in a large family with lots of brothers she was all to happy to play and wrestle with them and has the patience of an angel.

The reason I chose the stamps I did for this card was because of Aude's love of cooking, she is a qualified pastry chef and spoiled us rotten with some gorgeous deserts and her dinners even had my youngest loving his vegetables!

from left to right; Nicholas Aude and Jake

Aude I know you will visit my blog when you get back to a computer, we miss you already and hopefully one day we will all travel to France to see you and some of your delicious deserts!

Au Revoir!!!

Buttoned to Order

Girl Power!

This VERY pink card is buttoned to order for my DS Nicholas, it is for his friends birthday next weekend and he asked me to make this card with very exact instructions. "Mum can you make me a soccer card for Kiana and it must be PINK!"

I took my inspiration from last weeks Club Anya WCW challenge after making a basketball inspired card as I loved the way that had looked once it had been put together. I am also using this card to enter into the latest FFF challenge at Splendid Stamping all I need to do is add at least three buttons.

I have used Soccer Anya (of course) from TGF for this card and found the soccer ball by doing a clip art search, gotta love Google! and Hey Presto! a Very Pink Soccer card for Kiana.

Material Used: Digi Stamp Soccer Anya, Copic Ciao markers; R00, E00, E95, E37, E57, W3, W5, RV04 and RV23, Sakura Glaze pen, SU card stock Going Grey, Basic Black & Pixie Pink, DP from SU & Heidi Grace, buttons and number disc from the stash pile.

Talking about birthday parties I still have another card to make, we have a very busy Saturday heading our way, somehow I will manage to fit it a party for my youngest son's friend in the morning, then my SU Party in after lunch and then my oldest goes to Kiana's disco party in the late afternoon, PHEW! I am exhausted just thinking about it!

How Many Bolts?

My first Tiddly Inks challenge.

I found the Tiddly Inks Blog for the first time yesterday, which took me to the Tiddly Inks Shop which took me to this delightful little Robot who jumped straight into my shopping cart!

Robbie, as I have affectionately named him, is a joy to colour and I am sure he will be having a few friends join him soon from the Tiddly Inks Digi shop.

I have entered Robbie in my first Tiddly Inks challenge - Challenge 9 - Bleep, Bleep Boys and their Robots and I am sure it will not be the last.

Materials Used; Copic Ciao markers, SU Soft Suede, Kiwi Kiss and Black card stock, Memory Keepers Geo Hectic DP, Creative Imaginations Impress-ons.

Say What?

say what?

Today I am home sick from work, feeling like I am going to cough up a lung before lunch! I have tried resting in bed but when I lie down it just seems to make it worse, so today I will rest in my craft room and try and keep a steady hand while I colour, (easier said than done!)

I used this weeks WCW challenge at Club Anya for my inspiration, that was sorely lacking, to make my latest card. The other inspiration came from my six tear old Jake, who just loves to shoot hoops! I think he is going to be very excited to see this card when he comes home from school this afternoon.

For my little basket-baller character have used Dylan but he has Jeremy's hairstyle (to look more like Jake), these are both from my TGF Roll Call set along with that cute little sentiment. I found the basketball clip art on the web and have coloured it and then added texture with the cuttlebug. I am quite happy the way this card has worked out considering how I am feeling today.

Material Used: Copic Ciao markers, Roll Call Stamps; Jeremy, Dylan and sentiment, SU Real Red and Basic Black card stock, Making Memories DP, Cuttlebug Tiny Bubbles embossing plate, Sakura Embossing pen red and silver glitter pen, other DP paper and brads from the stash pile.

Rectangles, Circles and Squares

Trouble with a capital 't' !

It's Monday mania time at Club Anya, and the latest challenge is a real doosey! The card must include one rectangle, three squares and five circles, embellishments count as some of the shapes.

I have used Audrey from TGF and she is causing a whole lot of trouble as she tries to be one of the boys!

Materials Used: Copic Ciao markers, SU Real Red and black card stock, Daisy Bucket DP, Cuttlebug embossing plates, Brad from Kaiser craft, Creative Imaginations Impress-ons and a mix of other card stock and button from the stash pile.

She just looks too darn cute to cause any trouble!

Happy Father's Day !

Many challenges of a Happy Dad!

Oops! I almost forgot this one...

This was the last card I completed today, it has a dual purpose and was the most important card to be made this weekend.

It is a request made from my friend, Aude, who is staying with us at the moment from France, it will be Father's Day in France on the 20th of June, and she asked me to make a card especially for her Dad.

I used a few diffenent challenges for my inspiration with this card. It is entered at;

Club Anya

Stamptacular Sunday Challenge
Stamp Something
CCE Stampers (CCEE1023)

One of the things I did manage to do on my week off was shop and I was lucky enough to find the new Konstrukt collection from Kaiser Craft sitting on the shelves in one of my favorite scrap shops, it is beyond perfect for using with TGF's Handyman Ian.

Materials Used: Copic Ciao markers, Kaiser Craft Konstrukt ruler stamp, SU Sahara Sand and Brilliant Blue card stock, Kaiser Craft Konstrukt DP, Creative Imaginations Impress-ons.

Leaving it to the LAST minute!

A challenge and something extra...

I promised myself this week that since I had time off to do little more than relax, I would get into my craft room and do some serious card-making.....well I don't know where that week went, I was busy doing anything and everything except crafting!

Today is Sunday, tomorrow I am back at work, nothing like cramming it all in during the dying hours!

I have three cards too show you in this post , one for a challenge and the others are using characters I had manged to colour during the week, but were never mounted!

SMILE - it's a Sketch Challenge

This first card if for the this weeks FFF Sketch Challenge at Splendid Stamping. I have used a digi stamp; Country Anya for this one and added one of the farm animals from the McSplendid Farm set.

Materials used: Copic Ciao markers, SU Soft Suede Card stock, paper stash off-cuts, DP Kaiser craft Hey Birdie, ric-rac ribbon and other various embellies.

Small Wonder

This card was inspired by a card I saw on Meljen's Designs DT Blog, and as I had the same digi stamp and Cuttlebug embossing plate I had to give it a go.

This sweet puppy is already very cute but the embossing really makes him POP! He is coloured first, then cute and embossed.

Materials used: Copic Ciao markers, SU Riding Hood Red and black card stock, Cuttlebug Tiny Bubbles embossing plate, Daisy Bucket DP, SU Whimsical Words stamp, various embellies.

A Monstrosity!

The third card off the rank features one of my favorite new monsters from Pollycraft designs, his name is cuddly! He is great fun to colour. The sentiment is one that I have made up myself.

Material Used: Copic Ciao markers, SU Elegant Eggplant and Riding Hood red card stock, Daisy Designs DP, Cuttlebug Tiny Bubbles embossing plate, ribbon and brad from the stash pile.

If you made it to the bottom of this Monsterous post you have earned yourself a break, thanks for visiting, until next time....

Another Challenge - Another Reason to Smile!

Club Anya Sketch Challenge - Summer

This weeks sketch challenge over at Club Anya was just the excuse I needed to ink up another character from my Roll Call set from TGF. For this card I used Summer to bring some brightness into a bleak, winterey day.

I have coloured Summer using Copic Ciaos and she is layered on some gorgoues Flutter paper from Making Memories, I have used some of the reverse of the same paper and punched it for some detail, the other papers are just out of my stash of off-cuts.

I have blinged up the card with some flowers, pearls, brads, dew drops, some butterflies and a button. I had a lot of fun putting this card together and the sentiment say's it all!

Bejewled and Bedazzled Challenge

Another Splendid Stamping Challenge

My challenge, if I chose to accept it, to create a card with bling based on my favorite piece of jewelery.

And here it is, a Twilight inspired necklace handmade my Matsudabunch who has an inspiring little shop on ETSY. I just love this piece and the little movable fangs make a great talking point.

WICKED little Vampire!

I brought out my new Flirty Edward from The Greeting Farms ROLL CALL set. I do have him as a digi but I thought it might be nice to ink him up this time (giggle) and use him on an easel card.

He is coloured with copics (R00, E00, BG09,R59, E37) and layered on some black and real red SU cardstock, the black has been embossed with my Cuttlebug Skeleton Scroll folder. I have used some DP from my stash for the inside. The card has been finished by adding the sentiment, ribbon and a little embellies and bling.

He's such a WICKED little vampire!
